MEETING NOTES 1 May 2024

Meeting held at the McDonalds Party Room, Homemaker Centre Great Northern Highway Geraldton, chaired by Mark Chrimes. Meeting commenced 7.30pm.

PRESENT

Nungers and Linda King, Dale Clifton, Mark Chrimes, John Norton, Peter & Cheryl Moore, Terry Brennan, Ross Herbert, Darryl Langridge, Russel Morgan, John Kennedy, Bruce Ralph.

BUSINESS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES:

· Nungers – Last reminder to pay your membership which were due back in December. Let Nungers know your new date. Your club needs your support. So please follow up and join in the comradery. It’s only $120 for 3 years membership. Nungers will be getting an update from Ulysses office in the next few weeks as to who are paid up members. Those that don’t pay their membership will lose access to emails and Google Groups.

· Ulysses National Rally in Mandurah went well, about 392 attended. Whole event was held at the caravan park which was very good.

· National Rally next year will be at Armadale NSW. The following year Queensland.

GENERAL BUSINESS

· Breeanne a reporter for the ABC wants to do an interview with our club members at Hungry Jacks on the 19 May before the ride. She will be there at 9.30am

· Terry did a solo run to Kalgoorlie and met up with some of the riders up there. He went for a ride with about 8 of them. They have Indians, Goldwing’s and Harleys. They stopped in to have a look at 1875 steam engine which is worth having look at.

· Christmas in July is coming up. We are thinking of an overnighter in Kalbarri and having dinner at Finlays. Maybe stay a Kalbarri Tudor caravan park, not sure on availability of accommodation book your own accommodation. I emailed Finlays about booking as you can only book online, booking for 20 to start with will cost $200 deposit. If you want to attend please let me know and I will keep a list and collect money.

· A thank you at the meeting to Ray for the adventure of – “The hill climb and tractor pull” ?.

· Mark and Terry are going to the Esperance Odyssey.

WELFARE REVIEW:

· You would have seen in the emails on google groups that Haydyn Rowan has passed, his funeral is on 9 May at 10am. Our condolences to Janene and his family. Janene has asked that Ulysses do a bike guard of honour. They will be leaving Evereve Funeral car park at 10am. Please check emails for updates.

· Gary Warner is back at Nazareth House if anyone would like to visit.

CORRESPONDENCE IN:

NatCom have asked for 2 members to represent the Geraldton Branch to attend the

NatCom meeting at the Mandurah Rally.

CORRESPONDENCE OUT:

Bruce has replied to Natcom with Mark Chrimes and Nungers as the 2 to attend.

BUSINESS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES:

· Herby has suggested that I you are intending to attend the Exmouth Rally, 31/5/24 to 3/6/24 that to book early if you want to stay at Carnarvon on the way up and back. The Rally is at the Exmouth Cape Holiday Park.

· Gary Warner is at Charlie Gardner Hospital. He has just had another op on his knee as there was an infection. Scott has said that he is recovering well and will be at Charlies for a month.

· Don’t forget, Beth and Mark are having a bring and share at 5 Bedford St at 6pm 10 Feb.

· Mingenew Bakery is now under new ownership and is open 7 days a week, still excellent fare.

· Sunday rides will now leave from Hungry Jacks Northgate at 1000hrs

· Gary Warner is now at Nazareth House in Geraldton and would enjoy a few visitors. Scott has said that he is improving.
