MEETING: Emergency details to Nungers please so fellow riders
can communicate with your nominated contact if there is an interruption caused
by ill fortune or ill health because “what could possibly go wrong?” Follow up
on the issue of motorcycle parking on the northern paved area of foreshore
drive opposite Dome was undertaken by Ray Haynes. After several futile
attempts to contact the empowered officer at the Council Ray visited the lion
in its den and they let the sunshine in. The
outcome was a definite no to allowing parking outside the designate lined
parking bays whilst conceding that the is in a motorcycle bay still marked in
the area. However,
the engineering department is to be tasked with reviewing parking on the
northern side of the road to see if bays could be made available for the
motorcycles. Discussion
followed this report addressing the likelihood of being fined for parking
illegally in this area. The might of the law, exemplified by the treatment
John Winton received at the hands of a zealous official when parked, demands
respect and all agreed to never park in any many contrary to displayed signs. The wrath
of the group was aroused by this issue and action was discussed in regard to
mounting a legal protest by blockading parking in along the strip to get the
Councils to commit to its claim as a motorcycle friendly municipality. It is up
to the Geraldton Ulysses members to stoke this fire of discontent to ensure
that the aged rider is not penalised by their failing bodies to overcome both
physical and bureaucratic obstructions to their search for access to food and
drink. Ray
Haynes having kicked this hornet’s nest is now off to the National Rally in Armidale.
Ray will use this ride to raise awareness by discussing with others the sad
parking plight of the Geraldton biker. GENERAL BUSINESS Waroona car and bike show April 13th at,
surprisingly, Waroona. See Herbie and Frapee for further details. Ray Haynes approached the Irwin and Mingenew shires
trying to garner information on tractor, vehicle collectors that would be open
for a visit. More to come – maybe. Welfare Report Mark Chrimes said he was ok at showed no signs of
distress as he chaired a fiery meeting. Bruce Ralph was able to attend and clarified that he
had pulled through. Ross Herbert has his arm in a sling and is getting
mobile wound managed. CALENDAR DISCUSSIONS April 2025 FUTURE ACTIVITIES

Chris said that there are now signs up along
Foreshore drive saying you have to park in the white lines. We have had an
understanding with the Council that we can park the bikes on the bricks around
the brick tree planters in the shade as there is not enough parking or bike
parking. Are we still able to park there? ·
Ray made a motion that we approach the Council
for clarification around the parking. Can we park on the bricks or not. If not
can at least 6 more bike parks be made. We have 56 members and would like
clarification in writing. Seconded Mark. Votes 12 for none against. Ray and
